Insurance Information
Insurance Plans We Accept
We know that finding a dentist who takes your insurance is often the first step toward getting care. Smile Solutions is proud to be an in-network provider with Delta Dental, one of the most widely used dental insurance carriers in South Dakota. Being in-network means we have a direct agreement with Delta Dental, which typically lowers your out-of-pocket costs compared to visiting an out-of-network office.
We also see veterans through VA dental benefits. While VA coverage works a little differently than traditional dental insurance, our team is glad to help veteran patients understand their care options.
- Delta Dental (in-network)
- VA dental benefits for eligible veterans
If you have a different insurance carrier, we still encourage you to reach out. We can check your specific plan and let you know what to expect before your appointment.
How We Help You Navigate Your Benefits
Fee-For-Service Care and Your Options
Not every patient who visits Smile Solutions has Delta Dental, and that is perfectly fine. If you have other insurance carriers or no dental insurance, we offer fee-for-service care. This means you pay directly for the treatment you receive rather than relying on an in-network agreement. Our team can still submit claims to your insurance company on your behalf so you may receive reimbursement, depending on your plan’s out-of-network benefits.
Most PPO dental plans include a deductible and coinsurance, meaning your plan pays a percentage of the cost once you meet a set deductible amount, with an annual maximum that limits total yearly benefits. According to the American Dental Association, a common dental PPO deductible is around fifty dollars, after which many plans cover a percentage of the remaining fee for basic procedures. Our front desk is happy to explain how this applies to your specific treatment plan.
For patients interested in sleep dentistry and oral appliance therapy, this type of care is often billed under medical insurance rather than dental insurance. This can help patients who have already used up their annual dental maximum but still need treatment for sleep apnea. We are happy to talk through this option if it applies to you.
We also offer additional payment solutions for treatments that fall outside what insurance covers, so cost does not have to stand between you and the care you need. Our full range of dental services reflects the variety of care we provide to patients of all ages in Aberdeen and the surrounding region.
